Holidays in Norway
Glaciers and fjords, walking and fishing, nature and culture, rest and activity. Come and experience all this at the Hafslotun Holiday Village in Hafslo.
Hafslo is centrally located between the Sognefjord, the longest fjord in Norway, and the R55 Sognefjel Mountain Road, one of the most beautiful and highest mountain roads in Norway. Hafslo is the perfect base for some wonderful trips: there's the stave church in Urnes, the Nærøyfjord (both UNESCO World Heritage sites), the fascinating drive to the Austerdalsbreen Glacier, the Flåm train, the Nigardsbreen Glacier of course, and the Jotunheim Mountains – just a few of the many options on offer around this densely forested environment. Everything you expect from Norway can be experienced just a short distance away from the Hafslotun Holiday Village.
The Hafslotun Holiday Village is open all year round. In the winter there are plenty of opportunities for sledging, Nordic skiing and traditional skiing (the ski runs and pistes are within walking distance). In the spring you can experience nature awakening, and in the summer you could go walking, visit the stave churches, go fishing or see the glaciers. In autumn you'll be overwhelmed by the huge array of colours. This is also a great time to pick wild blueberries, raspberries, juniper berries and mountain cranberries.
There is a play area at the Holiday Village and during the holiday season the "Hafslotun Kro" restaurant is open. In the Kro you can drink a cup of coffee or dine while you enjoy the splendid view.
